TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: MENTAL HEALTH/ILLNESS BOOKS
- My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga (Suicidal thoughts)
- Impulse - by Ellen Hopkins (Depression/Suicidal thoughts/Self Harm)
- Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews (Leukemia)
- Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy (Leukemia)
- It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (Depression/Suicidal thoughts)
My list of books is in no particular order, I happen to find each one unique in it’s own way. Each author has a particular way of portraying their characters in way that I find very relatable. Impulse by Ellen Hopkins which is written in verse (as her books normally are) is written so beautifully. I find it hard to say that about a book touching on such deep topics, so if you only pick one of these that would be my suggestion.
P.S I plan on doing blog posts for Top 5 Wednesdays on here, so don’t forget to stop by on Wednesdays for a new blog post.
